The Brewers closer sparked plenty of Twitter debate on Friday when he compared Tim Tebow to a Kardashian of professional sports.
Axford later clarified that he was simply talking about the media attention each receives — not the pair’s respective talent levels. Still, the comparison was met with skepticism by some fans who felt Axford was laying down an unwarranted insult on Tebow.
Axford even re-tweeted some others following the initial tweet. Among the points raised by those who tweeted at Axford was that the pitcher’s initial point was verified — people really do constantly talk about Tebow and Kardashian, even if they haven’t done anything newsworthy.
Check out a few of Axford’s tweets below.
Tim Tebow has become a Kardashian of professional sports!

And I wasn’t referring to talent with that Kardashian analogy. Tebow has more talent in his pinky finger than Kim has in her entire family!

I simply meant media attention with, what seems to be, every time they do something!
