Kevin Youkilis Named American League Player of the Week for White SoxKevin Youkilis has gone on a bit of a tear since leaving Beantown.

Youkilis, who was batting .233 before being traded to Chicago to make room for Will Middlebrooks at third base, has lifted his average to .262 since going 17-for-49 (.347) for the White Sox.

That run includes a seven-game hitting streak, which was enough to earn Youkilis the honor of American League Player of the Week heading into the All-Star break. He was 11-for-23 over the week with three home runs, 10 RBIs and seven runs scored as the White Sox went 5-1.

Boston is 5-9 since the trade, with Middlebrooks sidelined with a hamstring injury since July 2.
