Mario Balotelli Breaks Record for Largest Bar Tab at Ocean Beach Club in IbizaMario Balotelli was determined to squeeze every ounce of good times out of his brief summer vacation, and he paid the price for it.

The Manchester City and Italy star racked up a record bar tab at a swank nightclub in Ibiza, Spain last weekend.

The Ocean Beach Club is a popular spot among the young, rich and famous set who like to party in Ibiza. Michael Carrick, Danny Welbeck and Joe Hart have recently been spotted in the (self-proclaimed) party capital of the world, but Balotelli took it to a whole new level.

“The 21-year-old hitman hired the most exclusive table at the swanky venue — which has a minimum spend of 5,000 Euros,” the Mirror reports. “Balotelli booked the ‘Owner’s Bed’ which is described as the ultimate VIP experience and the most exclusive VIP bed in the venue which caters for up to 20 guests.”

Club owner Wayne Lineker (yes, Gary’s brother) has seen a number of big spenders during his quarter-century in the business, but Balotelli put more money in his pockets than any of the others. Lineker broke the news of the record tab on Twitter.

“Wicked night last night in @LinekersIbiza with Mario Balotelli. His bill was the biggest anyone has ever had in 25 years in any Linekers. Balotelli has just texted and said @LinekersIbiza was crazy place. Ha.”

Fresh off of starring for Italy at the 2012 UEFA European Championship, Balotelli enjoyed his time in Ibiza to the fullest. He was spotted with French model Vanessa Lawrens, and several outlets reported that she is Balotelli’s new girlfriend.

Lineker did not specify how much Balotelli spent, but he might have broken the five figure mark. The 21-year-old is no stranger to large tabs. Last December, he spent £1,000 ($1,566) spreading Christmas cheer to patrons in a Manchester bar.

But the fun ends there. Balotelli had to return to England so he could join his Manchester City teammates for the club’s preseason tour of the Far East.
