Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine already got in trouble once for comments he made about former Red Sox infielder Kevin Youkilis. Back on April 15, he told WHDH's Joe Amorosino that he didn't think that Youkilis was "as physically or emotionally into the game as he has been in the past for some reason."
The two have had a testy relationship ever since, and that may have contributed to general manager Ben Cherington's decision to deal Youkilis to the Chicago White Sox on June 24. But now Valentine has come out and blamed Youkilis for being unwilling to mend the pair's relationship.
NESN's Tom Caron spoke to Boston Globe Red Sox beat reporter Peter Abraham about the impact of Valentine's new comments ahead of the White Sox' visit to Fenway Park on Monday.
