Penn State Supporters Speak Out Against Sanctions on Twitter, Still Idolize Joe PaternoThe Jerry Sandusky trial is over. The Freeh Report has been released. The Joe Paterno statue has been taken down, and the NCAA has handed down sanctions against Penn State.

But some people still haven't come to terms with what happened in the scandal and why people are being punished. Some of these people have taken to Twitter to express their disgust with the NCAA and their support for the Nittany Lions football program.

The sanctions handed down by the NCAA on Monday included a $60 million fine, a four-year bowl ban, vacating all 112 wins between 1998 and 2011, and the elimination of 10 scholarships for the 2012 season, plus 20 scholarships a year from 2013-2016.

While many people agree that the sanctions are fair and necessary, plenty of Penn State students, fans and supporters disagree.
