Red Sox Have Reached Pivotal Point in Season With Decisions About Future Looming
Are they buying or selling? Could they be doing both?

These types of questions will be asked over and over and over again throughout the next week, as the MLB trade deadline approaches while the Red Sox continue to hover around .500.

Everyone seems to have a different point of view on the subject, too. Some will point to the second wild card and say that there's still a chance the Sox can make up that ground, especially with the help of a deadline pickup or two.

Then again, there's also a faction of folks who see the Sox as sellers, hoping they can unload some of their high-priced pieces with an eye on 2013 and beyond.
