Vote: Is Ray Allen a Traitor for Leaving Boston?Boston Celtics fans feel betrayed.

Ray Allen, long considered the consummate professional in the NBA and a fan favorite in Boston, has signed a free agent contract, but not with the Celtics. Instead, Allen will be playing for the Miami Heat, who eliminated the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals and will continue to be the biggest obstacle standing between the Celts and another championship run.

Allen's decision has not gone over well in Boston, reminding some of Benedict Arnold and other traitors, like Johnny Damon. Rumored rifts between Allen and Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo and management are among the reasons Allen is taking his 3-point accuracy to South Beach.

Is this simply a basketball move, or is Allen taking a personal shot at the Celtics? He evidently wants one more shot at an NBA title before his career is over, and he thinks playing with LeBron James and company gives him the best shot. That has to sting a bit for the Celtics, even if they are well equipped to replace Allen with Avery Bradley.

What do you think? Is Allen a traitor for leaving Boston to play for Miami? Vote below.
