Vote: Which Patriots Position Battle is the Most Compelling? The New England Patriots have position battles at four key positions: running back, wide receiver, offensive line and defensive line.

Danny Woodhead, Stevan Ridley, Shane Vereen and Brandon Bolden are all competing for the top running back spot.

Woodhead is the candidate with the most NFL experience and he's been surprisingly successful during his career with the Patriots.

New England is one of the teams with the most depth at the wide receiver position. Tom Brady has targets such as Brandon Lloyd, Wes Welker, Deion Branch and Donte' Stallworth, and all should see a significant number of touches this season.

The offensive line is an area where there will also be plenty of position battles. Brian Waters, Logan Mankins, Dan Connolly, Nate Solder, Sebastian Vollmer and Dan Koppen are all competitors for starting spots.

Rob Ninkovich, Chandler Jones and Andre Carter are the key players to watch for when the coaches pick and choose their starting slots.

Which position battle do you think is the most compelling?
