Bobby Valentine Feels Bob McClure’s Firing Could Make Room for New Voice in Red Sox Clubhouse (Video)

In the wake of the Red Sox' recent slump, pitching coach Bob McClure was fired on Monday.

McClure, who was in his first season on the job, seemed to have a good connection with a number of the pitchers but ultimately the results just weren't there. Bobby Valentine understands the amount of effort that McClure put in, but Boston's manager feels that a new voice in the clubhouse could do big things for the Sox.

Check out the video above from Red Sox First Pitch to see more about McClure, as well as the impact of Carl Crawford's season-ending surgery.
