Chipper Jones Disses Curt Schilling, Calls Former Red Sox Pitcher 'Shock Jock'Chipper Jones
is having a great season in what he says is his final one, but that hasn’t convinced many others the Atlanta Braves veteran is definitely hanging up his cleats come season’s end.

Jones responded to one of those doubters this week when he fired back at Curt Schilling on an Atlanta radio station.

“Well I am sure Curt Schilling being the shock jock that he is probably trying to stir up some interest for ESPN and raise the question,” Jones told 790 The Zone. “But as I said so many times, I got four boys at home. I made promises to them that Daddy is done playing baseball.”

On a list of things that Schilling has been called this summer, when his video game company went bankrupt in a very public manner, this one from Chipper probably ranks pretty low on the insult scale. Then again, suggesting that Jones has some left in the tank isn’t so unreasonable.

The outfielder entered Tuesday batting .311 on the season, with an All-Star nod to go with his 13 home runs.
