Danny O'Connor Scores Fourth-Round Technical Knockout, Beats Eddie Soto in Gillette Stadium Fight (Photos)Gillette Stadium has played host to many events over the years, but never a boxing match. At least, not until Sunday night.

Local boy Danny O’Connor — a native of Framingham, Mass. — took on Eddie Soto in a light welterweight bout on the mezzanine concourse beyond the south endzone after a New England Revolution game.

O’Connor dominated the fight throughout, and eventually dropped Soto with a technical knockout in the fourth round. The victory for the hometown hero perhaps took some of the sting off the Revolution’s earlier 1-0 loss to the Montreal Impact.

O’Connor, who stands 5-foot-9 and weighs in at 140 pounds, is managed by Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys.
