Kelly Shoppach Confirms 'Disconnect in Communication' Within Red Sox Organization Upon Joining MetsNow that he's left the Red Sox organization and joined the Mets, Kelly Shoppach isn't holding back about his time in Boston.

When asked about the controversy surrounding his former team — on the heels of a Yahoo! Sports story that reported a division between players and Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine — Shoppach confirmed the drama.

In fact, the former Sox catcher expanded on the schism in the organization, claiming it wasn't just with Valentine.

"There is a disconnect in communication between the players through the upper management," Shoppach told New York reporters upon joining the Mets on Wednesday afternoon.

During his tenure with the Red Sox, Shoppach had at least one disagreement with Valentine. Back in May, in a pregame news conference, Valentine revealed that Shoppach approached him about his unhappiness given a lack of playing time.

Instead of keeping quiet –– since Shoppach met with him privately –– Valentine divulged the information, publicly. It was at a time when Jarrod Saltalamacchia was crushing the ball and starting to get on a roll.

Shoppach eventually made the most of his limited opportunities, clubbing five home runs and driving in 17 runs while batting .250. But based on his recent comments, it appears he's glad to have left the drama of Boston behind him.
