Kobe Bryant's Return to Twitter Is Short-Lived, Turns Out to Be Fake Account (Photos)Kobe Bryant didn’t just bring a gold medal back from the London Olympics. He also returned with a renewed interest in Twitter. Or so we thought.

Bryant, who opened an @KobeBryant account last September only to suddenly shut it down after accumulating 35,000 followers over three hours, appeared to return to the medium on Wednesday. His new account, @OfficialLaker24, had already been updated with a few photos, tweets and more than 10,000 followers. But it turns out the account was a farce after all.

The fake Twitter account was suspended during the late afternoon on Wednesday, cancelling out all the activity that it had attracted while meandering around pretending to be the five-time NBA champion.

Bryant hadn’t been shy about chronicling his victorious time in London, with shots of his gold medal and the celebrations that came with it, so it wouldn’t have been out of the question to assume he had finally jumped back on the social media source.

Either way, check out some of the photos put on Bryant’s fake page before it was shut down.
