Lance Armstrong’s Legacy Destroyed as Allegations Finally Catch Up With Former Hero

Nobody will ever be able to take away what Lance Armstrong did in defeating cancer and then raising money and awareness to try to find a cure. Everything else, however, is just about gone for Armstrong.

Armstrong's fame and the awareness he raised were always rooted in the success he found on a bicycle.  So, when Armstrong decided to drop his fight against doping allegations — losing his Tour de France titles in the process — he also lost much of the good will he had built up.

It's still a nice story to see a man overcome cancer, but Armstrong's story will never again be the one sports fans want it to be.
