It’s not easy being a rookie in the major leagues. Then again, it’s not easy to win the MVP award, either.

Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angeles has a chance to do both this year after dominating the American League for most of 2012. Considering Justin Verlander’s MVP win last year, NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette is trying not to be surprised when an unorthodox candidate for for the award finds his way to the front of the voting.
