Heading into the last day of competition at the London Games, the U.S. has all but won the medal race with 44 golds and 102 medals overall. China is in second with 38 golds and 87 overall, while Great Britain officially sits in third with less overall medals than Russia but more golds.
Saturday had a few notable performances, not least of which was the U.S. women's basketball team's 36-point evisceration of France for the gold medal. While the women's soccer team receives the lion's share of the attention, the women's basketball team has quietly won every gold medal at the Olympics since 1996.
Usain Bolt also gave another record-breaking performance, anchoring Jamaica's world record-breaking 4×100-meter relay team. Bolt has now won six gold medals in his Olympics career — and has never lost an Olympic final.
Sunday marks the end of the 2012 Olympics, but a few more highlights remain before the Olympic flame is extinguished for good. Check them out below, with all times listed in Eastern Standard Time.
10 a.m., NBC — Men's Basketball Final, USA vs. Spain
It's a rematch of the 2008 gold medal game, which Team USA won 118-107. LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and company will be gunning for the Americans' fourth gold in the last five Olympics, but they could face a stiff challenge in Spain's big man brother tandem of Pau and Marc Gasol. Then again, Team USA has won all of seven of its games by an average of 35.7 points.
10 a.m., NBColympics.com (Live stream) — Men's Handball Final, Sweden vs. France
This could be your last chance to jump on the handball bandwagon before it becomes the overly trendy thing to like. Go ahead and try not to like this wacky mash-up of basketball and lacrosse. We dare you.
10:50 a.m., NBColympics.com (Live stream — will be shown on NBC at 12:30 p.m.) — Men's Water Polo Final, Croatia vs. Italy
Similarly, this is likely the last time you'll see water polo grace your television screen until the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro. Take advantage of the opportunity to watch guys scuffle with each other and attempt to throw a ball into a goal — all while treading water. Team USA already won what amounts to a consolation match earlier Sunday morning against Spain, finishing in seventh place.
1 p.m., NBColympics.com (Live stream) — Women's Pentathlon, final two events
It's not quite the decathlon or even the heptathlon, but the modern pentathlon is worth a watch anyway for its quirky lineup of events. Fencing, swimming and riding will already be completed, but tune in to see the final two events — running and shooting — and find out who is crowned the champion pentathlete.
4 p.m., NBC — Men's Volleyball Final, Russia vs. Brazil
Team USA won't be defending its 2008 gold medal and didn't even play in a medal game. Into the void stepped Russia and Brazil, one of whom will go home with the gold. Italy won the bronze earlier Sunday morning.
7 p.m., NBC — Closing Ceremony
No word on what the Queen and James Bond will do for an encore to their jump out of a helicopter during the Opening Ceremony — but the Spice Girls have been spotted rehearsing, so at least there's that to look forward to. Along with all the usual pomp and circumstance, look for an early and lengthy tribute to British music through the years.
