Some critics have called the Orioles “lucky” this season, but that’s the only explanation for a fan’s good fortune at catching home runs.

Batimore rookie and uber-prospect Manny Machado hit his first two career home runs on Friday night and in doing so, became the youngest Oriole since World War I to accomplish that feat.

However, the most miraculous part of that might be that the same fan caught both of the homers.

Adam Corder, 15, caught both baseballs that the O’s shortstop-turned-third baseman blasted into the left field seats. While Corder traded back Machado’s first bomb in exchange for some autographed goodies, he’ll likely be keeping the second one, along with a lifelong memory of how lucky he was to be sitting in the right place.
