Brothers Justin and B.J. Upton both hit career home run No. 100 Friday night, and it got us thinking about brothers in sports.
Sure, the Uptons are among the best brothers in sports today — the Sedins, Gasols and Mannings also come to mind — but where do they rank among athletic brothers all time?
Brothers have a long history in baseball, with the DiMaggios (Joe, Dom and Vince) and Alous (Felipe, Jesus and Matty) among the most famous. There have also been several successful sets of brothers in the NHL, with the Sutters (Brent, Brian, Darryl, Duane, Rich and Ron), Espositos (Phil and Tony) and Richards (Maurice and Henri) setting the standard in that department.
And then there are brothers like Jackie and Mack Robinson, who excelled in different sports — Jackie as an MLB Hall of Famer, Mack as an Olympic silver medal-winning sprinter.
