The United States has seen its fair share of sporting presidents, but never one who fills out March Madness brackets on ESPN.
That's why it isn't surprising to find out that Barack Obama made an appearance on WNBS, a radio station out of Columbus, Ohio, on Friday morning to discuss all manner of sports topics.
Among other things, we learned that the commander-in-chief sees trouble on the horizon for Gang Green's potential quarterback problem.
"I don't like the idea of a quarterback controversy at the start of a season. If I were a Jets fan, I'd be pretty nervous," Obama said. "There's going to be a lot of tension in that situation."
Like many Americans, Obama has been duly impressed by the women's gymnastics competition taking place in the Olympics.
"I don't know how any human does it," Obama said. "They're just amazing. And the mental toughness that they have, if they slip, they're out. In basketball, if you miss five shots, you might get hot and make the next five."
Obama, a noted basketball devotee, also stated that he doesn't believe the current U.S. men's basketball team would stand a chance against the Dream Team of 1992 — citing the 2012 version's lack of interior size to match up against the likes of Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing.
