Red Sox Enter August Riding Four-Game Winning Streak, But Need to Be Even Better for Playoff PushThe trade deadline came and went on Tuesday, and the Red Sox moved on without making any huge moves. They picked up their fourth win in a row in a rain-shortened contest, and they enter a new month on a winning note.

The Sox enter August with a good deal of momentum, but that hasn't meant much yet this season. Boston has been maddeningly inconsistent, which is a reflection of subpar starting pitching. Through it all, however, the Sox have remained in the race.

Now, as they enter the stretch run, they must play their best baseball because time moves fast this time of the year.
