Spanish newspaper Marca is reporting that Barcelona’s winger Ibrahim Afellay is
one step away from becoming a new Schalke player. The Dutch midfielder
has chosen the German club’s offer, and the final step is that both teams
agree in the transfer amount which will be around 6 million euros.

One of the reasons Afellay has chosen Schalke’s offer is that he will
be able play in the UEFA Champions League, and the fact that fellow countryman Huub Stevens is Schalke’s manager, also played a good part on the
decision of the 26-year-old.

Afellay’s agent, Rob Jansen, declared in a Dutch TV program  that “we will discuss the type of transfer, which can be either a loan or a permanent move.”
