Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Recreates Thierry Henry's Greatest Goal (Video)Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain carries the hopes and dreams of Arsenal fans on his shoulders, and some Gooners think he can join the likes of Thierry Henry in the pantheon of club heroes.

One fan put the 19-year-old to the test, challenging Oxlade-Chamberlain to recreate Henry’s greatest-ever goal.

The goal in the question was the one Henry scored against Manchester United in Oct. 2000. Despite being closely marked by a defender, Henry received a pass with his back to the goal, flicked it to himself, swivelled and volleyed a shot into the top corner. It was the best goal Henry scored in the Premier League, but it’s debateable whether it was his personal best.

The ever-confident Oxlade-Chamberlain took up the task, albeit in a different environment. He drafted injured Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, who has scored a great goal or two himself (in practice), to help with the project, but soon found scoring that goal was much harder than it looked.

In fairness, the England international put the ball in the back of the net a few times. But he was unable to find the top corner like Henry did over a decade ago. Eventually, Oxlade-Chamberlain gave up and walked away. But not before Szczesny took a shot. We won’t tell you how that turned out. You can watch for yourself.
