Brazilian Goalkeeper Michel Alves Scores Own Goal With Epic Blunder (Video)Michel Alves dropped the ball on this one.

The Brazilian goalkeeper shouldn’t expect a big-money transfer any time soon, after he scored an embarrasing own goal.

Alves’ blunder occured in a Brazilian second division game between his team, Criciuma, and America Mineiro. It was the embodiment of day where everything just seemed to go wrong for the home team.

America Mineiro had already scored twice in the first 15 minutes. Alves’ own goal put the game out of reach in the 60th. The 31-year-old did well to save Fabio Junior’s shot, but his technique would soon abandon him.

Alves tried to balance himself with the ball as he was standing up. Disaster then struck as his bodyweight caused the ball to slip out of his hands and fall directly into the goal. All he could do was lunge in vain, knowing that his mistake would bring him worldwide fame in the digital age.

Most had a laugh at his misfortune, but it would get worse. America Mineiro scored again to complete the 4-0 drubbing. The YouTube scouts of the world have certainly deleted Alves’ name from their list of “must have” players.
