It is (almost) game time again for the Celtics, who have had
a long summer to think about the disappointing way their season ended last spring
in Miami.
After a brief opening of training camp at their practice
facility, though, the Celtics will pack up for a preseason trip of Europe that
will take them from Istanbul, Turkey, to Milan, Italy. When the Celtics are not
admiring the sights of the Old World, they will be trying to flesh out their
final roster and rotation before the regular season opens Oct. 30. The
departure of Ray Allen plus the additions of Jason Terry, Courtney Lee and
others assures that this preseason will not be without intrigue.
Even though the starting lineup and the front of the bench
appears to be set, barring any more significant injuries, there are a few
questions coach Doc Rivers and the gang will need to address before the real
games tip off. The answers to those questions could mean the difference between
an 18th championship banner or another tough ending to the season.
