Be thankful Joey Chestnut didn't attend your Labor Day weekend cookout.
Chestnut, known for his dominance at the annual July 4 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, showed Sunday that it doesn't really matter what's on the menu. Regardless of the lineup, he's going to eat more than you.
Chestnut flexed his muscles at the National Buffalo Wing Festival in Buffalo, devouring a record 191 wings in 12 minutes. That's roughly seven pounds worth of wings, again showing that no feat is too great for the world's most illustrious competitive eater.
Downing meat by the pound has its price, though. Chestnut noted on Twitter that it took him six hours to recover from his latest victory, in which he beat the old record of 183 wings set last year by Sonya Thomas (aka the Black Widow). After the recovery stage, it was time to party.

Chestnut was so dominant in the wing competition that it's hard to believe the event isn't exactly one of his strong suits. Yet that's the case, according to George Shea, the chairman of Major League Eating.
"He typically doesn't like chicken wing contests because you have to worry about the bone," Shea said. of Chestnut. "But he overcame his difficulties. He shredded the meat off the bone with great efficiency."
Efficient, indeed.
