Jurickson Profar made quite the impression.
During his first career at-bat, Profar, a 19-year-old prospect for the Rangers, delivered a solo home run to right field off Cleveland's Zach McAllister.
Profar wasn't expected to receive much playing time, but he was thrown into the fire when Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler was injured. Batting in the No. 9 hole, Profar didn't show any intimidation, going 2-for-4 with a home run and a double in the 8-3 victory.
"I guess it's a pretty big thing," Profar said, according to The Dallas Morning News. "I was just a little bit nervous, but I'm with a lot of great players, so I just went out and played."
Profar joins Pittsburgh's Starling Marte and San Diego's Eddy Rodriguez as the only rookies this season to launch round-trippers in their first major league plate appearance. He's the youngest Rangers player ever to hit a home run.
Profar is also the first player born in 1993 to play in the majors. Before his promotion, he was raking in Double-A, hitting 14 home runs and 62 RBIs while batting .281.
