Lionel Messi Denies Having Problems With David Villa After Barcelona Stars Seen Arguing During GameLionel Messi has denied having any conflict with David Villa, with whom he had a talking scuffle in the first half of Barcelona's game against Granada.

Messi said he has no problems with Villa and that people shouldn't look for problems where there are none.

It was 0-0 on the scoreboard in the first half when Messi rebuked Villa for not playing the first touch as he wanted. Villa replied vehemently and the argument was captured by television cameras.

In a declaration to Barça TV, the official channel of the club, Messi described the event of "things of the game" and justified the argument in "the tension of the first goal to make everything easier."

"It is the desire of the team to win the game," Messi insisted. "We want the best, and it is the tension of the game."

The three-time FIFA World Player of the Year also said that the team may be having a hard time winning games because of the tough preseason they had. Barcelona's first goal against Granada arrived in the 87th minute after a nice shot by Xavi.

"During the first matches you feel the physical work done for a month and a half, in which we barely touched the ball," Messi said. "Besides, a group of players arrived late because of the Euro and their national teams matches, and we had to make long trips."

The Argentine is not worried about how many goals he will score this season.

"This team has a lot of scoring power, many resources," Messi added. "I feel good, I'm not a hundred percent, but every time I'm better. This week off [with no midweek games] is going to give us a good rest," he said.
