Replacement Referees Offered Free LASIK Eye Surgery by Boston Laser in Hopes Performance Will ImproveWhen people with multiple acronyms after their names are getting on the replacement officials, it is clear things have reached a new low.

Samir Melki, MD, PHD is the founder of Boston Laser and a clinical faculty member at Harvard University. He wants to lend a hand to the replacement officials by offering free LASIK surgery to any replacement officials.

“With no contract agreement in sight, it is clear that the replacement referees are here to stay,” said the Boston-area medical group in a press release. “However, Boston Laser wants to do their part by offering FREE LASIK to all replacement referees hoping better vision will lead to better calls.”

The eye surgery — which Jerod Mayo, Sterling Moore and Ron Brace have all taken advantage of — would give the referees better vision but cannot guarantee that their judgement will improve as well.
