Report: Shaquille O’Neal Could Play in Mexico This October

Shaq is back.

Well, not really back, but he could be kind of back.

According to ESPN.com, Shaquille O'Neal is may play a few games in the Mexican Basketball League, Fuerza Regia team president Sergio Ganem said Wednesday.

O'Neal reportedly would play a couple of games this October if he were to return, although his availability will reportedly depend largely on his schedule as a TNT analyst.

O'Neal retired after appearing in just 37 games with the Celtics in 2010-11. Before that, though, he established himself as the most dominant big man in NBA history, earning 15 All-Star Game selections and winning four NBA titles.

The 40-year-old reportedly received the invitation to play in Mexico while visiting Monterrey, where he did social work in August. Ganem said he spoke to O'Neal over the phone, and a response is expected by next week.
