Walt Frazier was so cool, his nickname was just another regular name.

"Clyde" was known for his timeless Pumas on the court and his tailored black suits off the court, and fashion designers could fill volumes of design books with only examples from his wardrobe. But in retirement, Frazier has made some out-there clothing decisions that have been, well, questionable.

One of those was on display Thursday for the New York Knicks' new jersey unveiling, where the Hall of Fame guard donned a teal-and-magenta shirt that stole all the buzz from the new jerseys, which were basically a recreation of the ones Frazier wore in his playing days.

Inevitably, the topic turned to fashion. Earl Monroe, who was also in attendance and also boasts one of the best nicknames of all time ("The Pearl"), admired the Knicks' new-old look, but worked in a playful jab at his former backcourt mate.

"I just can't get with the shirt, though," Monroe said.

"I can pull it off," Frazier responded.

The wild part about it was, Frazier was right. The same styles and color schemes that make Craig Sager look ridiculous somehow fit on Frazier. That is simply a level of "cool" most of us will never attain.
