College Basketball Coach Dresses Up as Mascot to Propose to Girlfriend (Video)

Okay, this is pretty adorable.

Michigan's Davenport University may not be a big-time sports program, but who says they can't set up a big-time celebration? Craig Heatherly, the assistant basketball coach of the Davenport Panthers, recently found a very creative way to propose to his girlfriend, school dance coach Linaya Hass.

Dressed up as Pounce the Panther, Heatherly engaged in some on-court dancing with Hass, who apparently had no idea it was him. As part of the routine, Heatherly went down to one knee — and stayed there, eventually removing his panther head.

Public, high-pressure proposals may not be everyone's cup of tea, but hey, at least this time it worked out well for everyone involved. Check out the whole happy scene in the video below.
