Donald Trump Says Derek Jeter Broke Ankle as Part of 'Karma' for Selling Trump Tower ApartmentFor being a very successful man, Donald Trump sure says a lot of dumb things.

The Donald added to his memorable quips Monday when he once again voiced his opinion on the state of the New York Yankees, this time taking a dig at the venerable Derek Jeter.

Trump has been critical of underperforming Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez before, telling the Yankees to drop him in the lineup and accusing Rodriguez of being a bad tenant when he lived at Trump World Tower. Jeter, however, always had a special place in Trump's heart — until, apparently, he sold his own place in Trump Tower this past week.

Trump saw a connection between Jeter saying goodbye to his apartment and what has happened to the star shortstop over the past few days. Jeter suffered a nasty ankle fracture Saturday night, sidelining him for the rest of the season and ending his streak of 158 straight playoff games. The Yankees are now trailing the Tigers 0-2 in the American League Championship Series, with the next three games in Detroit.

That's no coincidence, Trump says.

The "karma" of which Trump speaks apparently applies to not only the untimely injury but also on-field performance, as Trump seemed to think A-Rod was terrific as long as he was living in a Trump apartment.

Trump made sure to deal with the heavy Twitter backlash by noting his love for Jeter despite, you know, joking about an injury that has clearly devastated Yankees fans.

What's that line about being rich not making someone classy?
