Revenge could not be sweeter.

Giants second baseman Marco Scutaro was knocked down by a vicious slide from the Cardinals' Matt Holliday in the first inning of Monday night's National League Championship Series game, but he wouldn't let St. Louis have the final word.

Scutaro came up to bat in the fourth inning and smacked a two-run single as the Giants pulled together a four-run inning. The best part? Scutaro's shot was fielded — or, attempted to be fielded — by Holliday himself, who had a little trouble coming up with the ball. A third run scored on his error.

Scutaro had to leave the game later with a hip injury from the nasty slide, but he and the Giants went on to a 7-1 victory to even the series — and let the baseball world that they won't take just anything.
