Representatives for the NHL and the players' association met on Saturday to discuss a schedule to formally discuss the lockout. They plan to meet again on Sunday.

The two sides may be meeting, but Ian Mendes of Rogers Sportsnet East still isn't optimistic over the discussions. Mendes said that he would be very surprised if the season started by mid-November and the thought of hockey by Christmas is still a stretch. If the season hasn't started by Christmas, there's a distinct possibility that the entire season could be cancelled.

To hear more of Mendes' thoughts on the lockout and to hear how some of the Bruins' players are doing overseas, watch the video from NESN Daily above.
