Tuesday marks a new day in the history of Boston Red Sox baseball. The team held an official news conference introducing John Farrell as its manager Tuesday afternoon. Farrell — who was on the Red Sox staff when the team won the World Series in 2007 — returns to Boston after two years of managing division rival Toronto.

It was made obvious that ownership badly wanted Farrell as the team’s manager, but what does Red Sox Nation think about it? NESN’s Twitter followers posted their reactions using the hashtag #FarrellNESN. The response toward the hiring was overwhelmingly positive. Here are the best fan tweets responding to the Red Sox’ introduction of the new skipper.
