Report: Yankees Were Bothered by Fans' Booing, 'Sucked the Energy' Out of BallclubBoo-hoo.

The New York Yankees' season is over, because they were flat-out dominated in the American League Championship Series against the Detroit Tigers. When Prince Fielder put away the final out of the sweep on Thursday in Detroit, the massacre came to a merciful end for New York.

Detroit was simply the better team, and that's why they won the ALCS. However, that's not stopping one Yankees player from placing at least some of the blame on Yankees fans.

The New York Daily News is citing an unnamed Yankee who is claiming the booing in New York got to the club, saying it "sucked the energy" out of the Bombers.

"I really think the booing spooked a lot of guys," the player reportedly told the paper. "A lot of guys hadn't been booed before, and they couldn't believe how nasty it got in the stands.

"A lot of guys were talking about it in the clubhouse. I was surprised by how much it bothered them. I really don't think they ever recovered."

The Yankees were booed out of town after a gross performance in the first two games of the series. This isn't the first time in the last week that a Yankees player has complained about the booing, too.

"That's the last thing I ever thought would be in this ballpark, that people would get on you that bad," Nick Swisher said following the first two games of the ALCS. "Especially home, where your heart is, where you've been battling and grinding all year long. It's just frustrating, man. You never want to be in that spot. It's not like you're trying to go out there and do bad on purpose. It's just tough, man."
