It seems like RG3 can do no wrong, and that’s earned him a rather interesting nickname.

Robert Griffin III‘s fantastic play early on this season has teammate Fred Davis referring to the rookie signal caller as “Black Jesus,” for there doesn’t seem to be anything Griffin can’t do.

“You really can’t say much more,” Davis said after the Redskins took down the Vikings on Sunday. “I mean, like I said, he’s Black Jesus right now. He saved us today. He’s a great player. He makes plays. And he did what he had to do on that third down. We’ve been talking about him protecting himself a lot more, but he seen an opening and made a play. And what can you say? I mean, he’s a great player.”

Griffin was shaken up in Washington’s Week 5 loss to Atlanta, but he bounced back in a big way in Week 6, torching Minnesota for 182 passing yards, 138 rushing yards and three total touchdowns. Even Jesus himself would be satisfied with numbers such as those.
