San Francisco Giants Celebrate World Series Title With Parade on Wednesday (Photos)Just three days after sweeping the Detroit Tigers for their second World Series title in three years, the San Francisco Giants celebrated with their fans on Wednesday.

The Giants’ parade took place in downtown San Francisco and the team added a unique touch to the ceremony, as each member of the organization cruised through the streets in his or her own car.

The 2012 Giants team fought hard throughout the postseason, surviving six elimination games en route to winning the franchise’s fifth title. Resiliency and a never-say-die mentality helped the Giants easily dispose of the Tigers in four games.

Behind a dominant pitching staff that held the Tigers’ offense to a .159 batting average and struck out 36 batters in 37 innings, and a roster that returns almost all of its key contributors next year, the San Francisco Giants are primed to make another magical run in 2013.
