Steve Nash, Ray Allen, Tim Duncan Among Stars on List of Top 10 Oldest Active Players (Photos)

With four of the six oldest active players in the NBA under
its employment, the New York franchise has taken the notion that experience is
important to the extreme. While Kurt Thomas, 40, is expected to provide little
more than veteran experience in the locker room, other players like Jason Kidd,
39, and Marcus Camby, 38, are being counted on to play crucial minutes on a
team that envisions itself challenging the Heat and Celtics for Eastern
Conference supremacy.

The Knicks are not the only team that went the mature route
this offseason. All-Stars such as Tim Duncan, Grant Hill and Ray Allen all
signed new deals, as did steady vets like Andre Miller. The Lakers threw
caution to the wind and gave three more years to 38-year-old Steve Nash.
Basketball may be a young man's game, but the old heads are not giving up their
grip on the sport yet.

Amazingly, many of the league's oldest players are still
nearly a decade from reaching Kevin Willis, who played his final game on April
18, 2007 at the tender age of 44 years, 224 days old. Willis is still the king
of the graybeards, but a few active players are closing in on his record.
