Wes Welker Says Left Ankle Should Be OK After Leaving Rams Game in Fourth QuarterWhen Wes Welker limped off the field in the fourth quarter with a non-contact injury, Patriots fans everywhere had flashbacks to the ACL tear he suffered during the 2009 playoffs. Thankfully, this injury seems far less severe.

Welker spoke with reporters after the New England victory in London and said that his left ankle should be OK after getting stuck in the slippery Wembley Stadium turf.

"We'll see. We'll evaluate it in the morning," said Welker. "It's hard to tell right after it happens. We'll evaluate it as the week goes on."

Fortunately, Welker has two full weeks to recover from the ailment that kept him out of the waning moments of Sunday's game. The Patriots will be on their bye in Week 9, before facing Buffalo in Week 10. Welker had six receptions for 48 yards against the Rams, and got into a scuffle with St. Louis cornerback Cortland Finnegan.
