The Celtics played a “clutter-free game” Friday night, according to head coach Doc Rivers, with the defensive miscues and chemistry struggles that have been issues in Boston’s losses falling away against the Thunder.

It all added up to a win for Boston, which defeated the defending Western Conference champion Oklahoma City Thunder behind a marvelous effort by forward Jeff Green, who went for 17 points against his former team. Getting 27 points from Paul Pierce and 16 assists from Rajon Rondo certainly doesn’t hurt, either.
