It’s never too early to attempt to project the Red Sox’ 2013 lineup.
Now, there’s plenty of time for these projections to change given how early it is in the offseason. Last year, the Red Sox didn’t sign outfielder Cody Ross until three weeks before the beginning of spring training.
The winter meetings are also scheduled for next week, meaning Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington will have the opportunity to pull off some trades and add a few more pieces to the roster, and there’s always the possibility that injuries could complicate the lineup.
But if all goes according to plan for Boston’s masthead, the 2013 lineup could look a little something like this.
