Hope Solo wants to set the record straight.

The U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team goalkeeper recently married Jerramy Stevens, who was arrested on a domestic violence report the night before their wedding.

Solo insists the former Seattle Seahawks tight end never hit her, saying stories suggesting he did are simply inaccurate.

“It’s unfortunate what the media can do to judge before the facts are out there,” Solo said. “It’s hard to see, but it’s a hard truth, and it’s part of life. I’m happy. I’m happily married. I would never stand for domestic violence. I’ve never been hit in my life.”

On Nov. 13, Stevens was arrested after police responded to a disturbance at a home in Kirkland, Wash. He was released that morning due to a lack of evidence. Stevens and Solo married later that day.

Solo is rarely far from drama, as far as the public is concerned, but she seems to want to live a normal life — just like any superstar athlete.

Solo discusses married life and the Stevens case in the video below.
