The Boston Red Sox continue to look for ways to shore up their outfield, and they have reportedly sought out free-agent outfielder Nick Swisher.

The Red Sox “have had ongoing negotiations with Swisher and his agents,” according to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe.

Last season, Swisher hit .272 with the Bronx Bombers, smacking 24 home runs while driving in 93 RBIs in 148 games. The switch-hitting outfielder killed the Sox in 2012, hitting a mind-boggling .459 — his highest against any opponent. Five of his 24 homers came against Boston as well.

With reports that first-baseman/catcher Mike Napoli visited the team over the weekend, another free agent may be considering taking his talents to the Hub in the near future.
