The two sides in the NHL lockout are down to an gap of just $182 million over five years.
Both sides have agreed on a 50-50 revenue split, but the players association wants $393 million in deferred payments, while the NHL wants $211 million. NHLPA special counsel Steve Fehr now says that the NHLPA moved miles to get to that figure after months of negotiations, while the NHL only had to move inches.
