Vote: What Are Boston Sports Fans Most Thankful For in 2012?

The 2012 sports calendar year is nearing its end and it is around this time that fans young and old take stock of what has happened over the past year and reflect on what they are most thankful for.

Boston fans have been blessed with plenty of positive things in the past year with the Patriots being in first place in the AFC East, the Red Sox bringing back slugger David Ortiz for two more years, Rajon Rondo is at the peak of his game for the Celtics and the future of the Boston Bruins in net is in the capable hands of Tuukka Rask.

But which of these things are you, the fans, most thankful for?

The Patriots have steadied the ship after a rocky start and now stand at 7-3 and atop the division despite have one of the worst defenses in the NFL this season. Tom Brady is once again looking like one of the best quarterbacks in the league and an influx of talent at the running back position has made things fly more smoothly on the offensive side of the ball.

The Red Sox signed Ortiz up for two more seasons in hopes he can replicate the type of production he was putting up prior to being shelved with an Achilles injury. Now that he finally has the security he was looking for, Ortiz can get back to being the lovable slugger that Boston fans have grown to adore over the years.

The Celtics may have let Ray Allen get away, but Rondo has been there to take his place — if he hadn’t already. Rondo is once again racking up double-doubles like they’re going out of style and, when healthy, has the Celtics playing a fun brand of basketball.

The Bruins may not be on the ice yet, but when they do lace ’em up they can take solace in the fact that they have a proven goalie between the pipes in Rask. Tim Thomas was plagued with inconsistency this past season and decided to take a year away from the game, leaving the spot open for Rask.

So in the spirit of the season, which of these situations are you most thankful for?
