Stevan RidleyThe Patriots beat the Dolphins 23-16 on Sunday, but the manner in which it was done isn’t sitting well with some of the Miami players.

When the Patriots put the game away in the fourth quarter on a 16-play, 77-yard drive that ended with a field goal to ice the game, they did so thanks to a run-heavy attack. Of the 16 plays, 13 were running plays and what’s more, six of those runs were through the same hole in the Miami D.

As a result, backup defensive lineman Tony McDaniel wasn’t too happy with Josh McDaniels‘ play-calling.

“It really [ticked] me off,” he said, according go the Palm Beach Post. “It was disrespectful to us to run the same play over and over and be successful.

“Normally when somebody’s driving down the field you just think, ‘Well, they just had a good run there,’ but you run the same play over and over, as a competitor that [ticks] me off.”

Ultimately, though, the Dolphins and Patriots are professionals. So if the Fins were so upset about the play, they should have done something about it on the field.

‘It is disrespectful,” tackle Randy Starks explained, “but you’ve got to stop it. We never stopped it, so I’d keep running the same play, too.”

The Patriots likely will, when the teams meet again in Week 17.
