On Thanksgiving, it was the Detroit Lions’ Ndamukong Suh. On the day after Christmas (or Boxing Day in Canada), it was the Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade.

Wade opened himself up to criticism on Wednesday night after kicking Bobcats point guard Ramon Sessions below the belt. The talk now floating around is whether or not Wade’s boot to the groin was intentional or simply a product of the Heat superstar falling backward after making contact with Sessions.

Either way, the damage was done, as Sessions fell to the ground in the same manner that 99 percent of the world’s men would. He quickly got up to confront Wade, though, but Wade seemed to plead his case that there was no ill intent behind the flailing leg kick.

Wade isn’t the first athlete to dish out a leg to the family jewels this holiday season. Suh was under heavy scrutiny after he served up a kick to Texans quarterback Matt Schaub on Turkey Day. Like with the Suh incident, it’s tough to determine whether Wade got carried away and kicked Sessions on purpose, but surely the league will at least look into the incident.

Then again, that doesn’t do a whole lot to ease Sessions’ pain. Keep your head up, big fella.
