Plenty of sports teams are named after dangerous animals, but rarely is that danger so clearly demonstrated than it was recently.
In a video that has since gone viral on the Internet, a golden eagle can be seen swooping down on an unsuspecting Canadian child in a park and attempting to carry it away. Unsuccessful in its efforts, the bird of prey flies off, leaving viewers with a fear that it could one day return to finish the deed.
While the video has since been derided as a fabrication, it’s still pretty impressive to see. And considering all the bird mascots in the sports world, fans would behoove themselves to take a moment and consider which ones they should keep an eye out for down the road.
