Jimmy Clausen Tweeted Picture of ‘Catholics vs. Cousins’ T-Shirt (Photo)

Poor Jimmy Clausen. The Panthers’ third-string quarterback received a T-shirt in the mail that he thought was hilarious, tweeted a picture of his gift and got a resounding applause from his Notre Dame followers.

Then Alabama fans caught wind of it and didn’t like it so much. That’s because Clausen’s new shirt read “Catholics vs. Cousins.” Which is funny, you know, because in Alabama, cousins date each other — not.

Clausen swiftly took the tweet down and backpedaled faster than he ever has in his playing days by sending out some defensive tweets and retweets before posting a genuine apology — oh, and he also had some lunch during the controversy.
